Minions: three costume characters visit The Grove Mall

The Rise of Gru is the fifth film in a franchise that continues to thrill and delight audiences in every country.

The Grove Mall was a place to be on Saturday.

Three costume characters of  the Minions, Kevin, Stuart and Bob drew hundreds of shoppers including children during the costume character road trip promoting the release of film: The rise of Gru.

Halima Lageredien from United international pictures said The rise of Gru is currently playing at cinemas.

She said the road trip would  give fans a chance to meet and greet the three characters.

“The Rise of Gru is the fifth film in a franchise that continues to thrill and delight audiences in every country. ”

“It has become the biggest animated global franchise in history, earning more than $3.7 billion worldwide,” said Lageredien.

“It tells the story of how the world’s greatest supervillain first met his iconic Minions, forged cinema’s most despicable crew and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled in Minions: The Rise of Gru,” said Lageredien.

Chris Hutching, marketing manager at the Grove mall said “We are extremely excited to have the Minions visiting the Mall.”

He said locals and international personalities came to meet the characters with the public at the mall.

“The shoppers had the opportunity to meet and snap photos and the photos were printed on the spot for free,” said Hutching.

Other activities were face paintings, a Minions express train ride, candy floss, and happy meals.

The event ran from 09:00 to 13:00.
