Mams clinic gave free health screening on Mandela Day

The clinic, which has operated for two years, was started with the aim of reducing long queues at the local clinic.

In celebration of Mandela Day on July 18, as a local clinic has offered Mamelodi residents free blood glucose, HIV and hypertension tests.

T. Charlotte clinic founder Charlotte Malope said this was part of the clinic giving back to the community and a way to encourage the residents – young and old – to take care of their health at all times.

The clinic, which has operated for two years, was started to reduce long queues at the local clinic.

She said she was happy with the response of the public which shows that people want to take care of their health.

“The clinic aims to provide affordable quality primary healthcare to its patients,” said Malope.

The clinic also handed out pamphlets of the services the clinic offered to locals.

She added that the clinic has helped a lot of people.

“The clinic is one of its kind and offers all primary healthcare services at reasonable prices,” she said.

The clinic cares for people with general health problems such as high blood pressure, immunisation, child care, sexual health such as STD testing, HIV testing and prevention, family planning such as maternal care, nutrition and wellness.

Furthermore, the clinic also offers home care visits to patients who are unable to physically come to the clinic.

The clinic is situated in Mamelodi East, Gem Valley and is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00.
