An ATM in Pretoria Gardens was bombed by an unknown number of suspects on Saturday morning, but police were surprised to find that no money was taken.

An ATM in Pretoria Gardens was bombed by an unknown number of suspects on Saturday morning, but police were surprised to find that no money was taken.

The suspects raided an ATM on the corner of Schurmanns Avenue and Lotty Street, said police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe.

Chokoe said the suspects were not seen by anyone but explosions were heard.

“Upon their arrival, police found the ATM in a damaged and bad condition,” he said.

“There was no one on the scene and no injuries or fatalities were reported.”

Chokoe said it was surprising to discover that nothing was taken from the ATM.

“A case of endangering life and property by means of an explosion was opened at Hercules police station,” he said.

Chokoe added that no arrests have been made.

He urged anyone with information which might lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the police on 08600 10111 or their local police station.
