The Ga-Rankuwa police spent Mandela Day giving back to the less fortunate at the Noah Peng Ai Gong care centre.
Located in Zone 16, the Noah Peng Ai Gong centre specialises in providing care to victims of gender-based violence (GBV) and child abuse.
The Mandela Day event featured activities for the children, beneficiaries and community members to enjoy.

Some of the events included music performances, acting showcases, games, dancing – including gumboot and food served to attendees.
The centre helps disadvantaged children that are victims of abuse by providing food, tutoring and other support.
Station commander Brigadier KJ Lehabe-Metsi led her fellow servicemen and women to the centre in celebration of Mandela Day.

Ga-Rankuwa police along with the children and beneficiaries spent the day cleaning and painting the premises for their “67 Minutes for Mandela Day”.
Among the attendees of the event were various youth organisations as well as social development and community leader, Angie Molebatsi.
In addition to the clean-up, the police also donated over 200 blankets to the needy.
