Isolated thunderstorms, rain in Pretoria

Despite earlier forecasts by the South African Weather Service, parts of Pretoria experienced isolated thunderstorms and light rain.

Parts of Pretoria experienced isolated thunderstorms and light rain on Saturday with more expected for Sunday.

According to Vox Weather’s website, the weekend forecast for rain included isolated storms with up to a 30% chance of rain in the southern parts of Gauteng.

This despite an earlier forecast by the South African Weather Service (SAWS) that no rainfall could be expected.
Vox Weather anticipated temperatures reaching highs of 30*C on Saturday and 31*C on Sunday.

They also issued a warning to residents of extreme fire danger conditions over the interior of South Africa.
Earlier today, the SAWS reported that no rain was expected.

However, shortly after the report, several residents alerted Rekord that they had experienced light rain and thunderstorms in the eastern and northern parts of Pretoria and Centurion.
