Eersterust officer murdered in Mamelodi
The officer was found murdered in his home.
A Eersterust police officer (58) was murdered in his home in Mamelodi on Tuesday.
According to Eersterust SAPS, a customer who had come to the home of the deceased to buy a soft drink, found the body and promptly contacted the police.
“A preliminary investigation has since revealed that the officer suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body.
“The motive for the killing is not yet known and the police are appealing to the public to assist them with information that can lead to the arrest of the assailant(s),” said Sergeant Sam Shibambo from the Eersterust police.
