Tshwane flying Squad members on Saturday recovered two vehicles believed to have been stolen.
Police spokesperson sergeant Alfred Legodi said the two cars were recovered in Atterbury road in the east of Pretoria.
“The police recovered two cars, a blue Audi Q3 and a silver VW POLO. Both cars were found in Atterbury road at Menlyn,” Legodi said.
No suspects were arrested.
Legodi added however, that upon investigation, police found that the Polo driver was indeed the owner of the vehicle and the previous registration had not been cancelled.
“The vehicle recovered on Atterbury road was driven by the owner,” he said.
According to Legodi, both cars were taken to the Pretoria West Pound for further investigation.
He said police were working with malls around Pretoria to identify whether the papers of cars entering were in order.
Some of the malls around Pretoria had entrances with systems that link to the SAPS to check the validity of the registrations of cars entering their premises and whether cars had been involved in some kind of criminal activities, he added.
