Man airlifted after pedestrian accident on N14

The man got out of his car to inspect his tyres when he was struck by a car.

A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a car while out of his car on the N14.

At about 09:30 on Friday, December 23, paramedics responded to reports of a serious vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said that when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a man in critical condition.

Van Reenen said that reports from the scene are that the man stopped his vehicle to inspect the tyres and was struck by a passing car.

“Emergency care practitioners worked fervently to stabilise him before he was airlifted by the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required,” said Van Reenen.
