Numerous cars burglarised and vandalised outside Loftus Stadium

A football match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United took place this past Saturday afternoon.

Numerous car owners parked outside Loftus Stadium in Central Pretoria returned after the match to find their vehicles vandalised and burglarised.

In circulating social media videos up to seven (7) vehicles parked outside the stadium are seen to have had their bumpers and headlights forcibly removed.

“That’s why it’s very important to use public transport when going to an event with a huge crowd where you park at your own risk,” advised one social media user.

Different vehicles were affected but a common target brand was identified by online users. It seems that most were Volkswagens.
“VW has to do something since our own country failed us,” said one user.

“Park in secured parking, where there’s less likelihood of something like this happening,” said the user.

The Pretoria Central police couldn’t comment on the matter at the time of publishing, although residents are advised to report the crime should they have fallen victim or have any information related to the matter.

Motorists are also advised to use secure parking and to be wary of their surroundings. It is always better to use stadium parking facilities.

Residents who wish to report a crime can call the central police at 012 353 4233 or 10111.
