Pedestrian dies in Stanza Bobape Street accident
A pedestrian died in an accident involving two vehicles this morning on Stanza Bopape Street between the Sheraton Hotel and the Union Buildings in Arcadia, Pretoria.
A pedestrian died in an accident involving two vehicles this morning on Stanza Bopape Street between the Sheraton Hotel and the Union Buildings in Arcadia, Pretoria.
As a result, the road was closed in both directions at around 08:10.
Police were on the scene and the road was expected to be opened after forensic pathology workers have collected the body.
Motorists who planned to use Stanza Bopape Street were advised to avoid the affected section of the road between Wessels and Leyds streets until the road was cleared and opened.
Madiba Street from Zeederberg Street was also closed as it leads to the section of Stanza Bopape Street of the accident scene.
Alternative routes to be used are either Pretorius or Francis Baard streets.
Only vehicles of people residing in the affected section of Stanza Bopape Street are allowed to use that part of the street.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
This is a developing story and at the time of publishing online, Sunnyside police were not available for comment.
