The woman is believed to have been in her eighties.

This afternoon, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Soutpansberg Road.

Paramedics said they found an elderly woman in a state of cardiac arrest at the accident scene, and Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle Van Reenen said that despite cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, the woman was declared dead on the scene.

He said that the woman is believed to have been in her eighties.

Van Reenen said this tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of driving and the importance of road safety.
