Abducted Laudium businessman still not found

The victim was allegedly abducted while he was travelling on the R55

Laudium businessman Aftab Haidri of the Q&A Cellular in Bengal Street, who was abducted on Thursday night is still missing.

The victim was traveling on the R55 and was allegedly pulled over by bogus police in a white VW Polo with blue lights.

According to reports from a community WhatsApp group, it is reported that the victim was on his way to Eldoglen when he was abducted.

The police have confirmed that his VW T-Cross was also stolen. The incident happened at around 21:00 on Thursday.

“I can confirm the incident happened and a case was opened,” said provincial police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.

Nevhuhulwi said a team has been activated to work on the case and follow any leads received.

She said that so far the victim’s vehicle was recovered on Friday, but the victim is still missing.

She urges anyone with information that might help the safe return of the victim to come forward.
