Locals pay tribute to fallen musician
Local artists and residents came together on Wednesday to support Angie Oeh's family following her passing.
Music lovers attended a benefit concert in honour of Angie Oeh at Railways Café, Irene in Centurion on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old rapper passed away earlier this month after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was meant to perform at Railways Cafe before being admitted to hospital.

Concert organiser and manager of artist Jan Bloukaas, Aida Wessels said that the concert is a testament to the entertainment industry’s sense of community and togetherness to help a fellow member.
“This is primarily for Angie but it’s also for the entertainment industry as a whole. This shows that we are a family and it doesn’t matter where you’re from, the genre you play, or whether you’re independent or signed, once you become family, you’re family, and we look out for each other,” Wessels said.
She added that the initiative resonated with her as Jan Bloukaas is reportedly battling brain cancer.
All performers at the benefit had agreed to forego their fee with all the profits being donated to Angie’s family and management team.
Performers included Martin Bester, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Jaco van der Merwe, Van Pletzen, Jan Bloukaas, Zaan Sonnekus, Biggy, and Loufi.

Railways Café owner TJ Bryant said that the café was honoured to host the concert as it was Angie’s favourite venue to perform.
“There’s only one person to really thank and that’s Angie. For all the good times, the good shows, we did a piece for her on stage as well so she’ll never leave us. We miss and love her very much, so to many more in her honour,” Bryant concluded.
