Rand Water to attend to water supply shortage in Amandasig, Chantelle

Two suburbs in the north of Pretoria have been without water for over three days now.

Residents in two suburbs in the north of Pretoria have been without water since Monday, August 28 due to supply failure from the Akasia reservoir.

The metro has identified the problem as inadequate pressure from Rand Water.

“Tshwane has alerted Rand Water about the water outage experienced by Amandasig and Chantelle. The water utility will work swiftly to fix the issue,” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

Mashigo said the City hopes that Rand Water will address the problem as speedily as possible.

He said the City acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the water shortages and apologises to the residents of Amandasig and Chantelle.

He said the City is working to resolve the problem and restore the water supply as soon as possible.

In the meantime, residents are urged to conserve water and report any water leaks or burst pipes to the relevant authorities.
