Heritage market, Jakaranda Centre, September 23 – 25

Food, drinks, African art, jewellery, clothing, shoes, toys, crafts – celebrate your Heritage Day weekend at the Heart of the Moot.
The market has entertainment for the little ones, while parents can enjoy a relaxing market atmosphere including music and much more.
Shop till you drop from 09:00 to 16:00 daily.
Bark Vader Pet Fair, September 23

Calling all dog lovers in Pretoria East and beyond to this special furry friend-themed market.
The market will be held at Valleisig NG church in Faerie Glen on Saturday from 09:00 to 15:00.
With tons of local pet businesses all in one place, you will find everything you need to spoil your fur baby while enjoying some delicious food and drinks yourself.
There will be some fun competitions lined up for a chance to win your dog some awesome prizes.
Social dogs are welcome at the event, but remember, all dogs must remain on leash at all times.
Spoegwolf Lente album launch, September 22

Fan favourite Spoegwolf has been busy over the last year, putting together something which promises to be its best and biggest yet.
The Paarl band is launching its Lente album that harks back to the members’ years as children in the Boland, but also has something hopeful for their future as musicians in a brilliant but broken world.
In 2022, the much-loved band released its album Droombrief, a collection of love letters of sorts, with poetic lyrics that pull at the heartstrings and make full use of Spoegwolf’s perfected sentimental sound.
Catch the show on Friday at the Atterbury Theatre from 19:00.
Kaalwoorde Open Mic Digkuns Aand, September 21

Do you enjoy poetry?
This open mic evening might just be the thing for the more creative.
The event starts at 18:00 on Thursday. and is a great way to share your heritage, anything else you’d like, or to support the poetic stylings on offer in Pretoria.

Cullinan Heritage Day Gin fest, September 23 and 24

It’s Gin ’O Clock all weekend long at the Cullinan Heritage Day Gin Fest in the quaint historical town of Cullinan, only a short drive from Pretoria.
Experience quality craft gin from the best distilleries in the country, hand-picked for this event.
Alongside the variety of craft gins, wines and beers, there will also be food stalls, as well as arts and crafts.
Each visitor will receive a tasting glass to take home, with all tastings included, and performances by AJ DeVos, Zahn and Vincent Gordon.
The event takes place at Callinan library park from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
The Club Streetside Market, September 23

Back your boytjies this Heritage Day weekend, while enjoying the treats at the usual Streetside Market.
Live music, crafts, lekker food and drinks will be available, with the Boks on the big screen battling it out as they take on Ireland – from 16:00 to 21:00 on Saturday.
Tshwane Spring Yoga Festival, September 24

Invigorate your soul, find a new passion, or meet like-minded Pretorians at the University of Pretoria’s Future Africa campus.
The event features various sessions covering a variety of yoga styles, sound journeys, food stalls, holistic health solutions and more.
Entry is free, but guests need to register [https://form.jotform.com/232221560472548], presenting their confirmation emails at the door.
The event runs from 08:00 to 15:00 on Sunday.
