Fire guts second of three-storey popular local bar

A three-storey restaurant and bar in the heart of Pretoria East has temporarily ceased operations after being gutted by a fire on September 20.
There were no casualties or injuries reported due to the fire at the popular Summit Grill and Skybar restaurant near Menlyn mall in Pretoria.
The fire at the Garsfontein Road entertainment spot was reported at 04:00 on September 20, according to Tshwane Emergency Services Deputy Chief Charles Mabaso.
“Only the second floor, by the deejay booth caught fire and sustained damage. The ground floor, kitchen and rooftop were not damaged.”
He said the cause of the fire was unknown and investigations would be embarked on.
In a statement on social media, Summit Grill and Skybar confirmed the fire and announced that its doors would be temporarily shut.
