Metro distances itself from ‘bogus’ vacancy ad
Mashigo urges the public to be vigilant of fraudulent activities and not to pay for a job application.
The Tshwane metro has warned of “bogus” administration clerk vacancy advertisement.
The metro said the bogus post is advertised by recruitment agency beBee, on behalf of the municipality and other organisations.
“The purportedly agency promotes itself through a slogan, “Find your fit” as in find a job that fits or suits you,” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.
Mashigo said the advertisement is devoid of any truth, as the city only advertises its vacant posts in newspapers and on the Job Forum page of its website www.tshwane.gov.za.
Mashigo urged the public to ignore the said advertisement, as it is a scam.
“The city continues to be dismayed at the scammers who prey on the emotions of unsuspecting job seekers by manufacturing information about the existence of job vacancies,” he said.

Mashigo said the city suspects that the aim of the scammers is to con vulnerable people who are desperate for jobs.
“We wish to warn those who are peddling such false information that they will be arrested, charged and prosecuted, as their actions border on criminality.”
Mashigo advised the public to contact the Tshwane metropolitan police on 012 358 7095/6 whenever they come across “job adverts’’ that are issued outside the norms and procedures of city processes.
“The public is warned not to fall for this scam.”
Mashigo urged the public to be vigilant of fraudulent activities and not to pay for a job application.
