Police manhunt for four suspects following fatal shooting of woman
A woman was shot and killed during a suspected robbery at a shop in Zwartkop.
Police opened a murder investigation after a woman was shot dead in a suspected robbery on Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery took place around 17:00 at a shop in Kersieboom Crescent, Zwartkop.
According to Tshwane SAPS spokesperson, Warrant-Officer Johan van Dyk, a shopper who witnessed the crime told police that the suspects entered the shop and began talking loudly.
The suspects were three men and a woman.
“The deceased spoke to the suspects and requested them to leave,” said Van Dyk.
An argument then broke out and the woman once again requested the suspects to leave, while moving to the door.
“One suspect grabbed a hand weapon from the other suspect and shot the woman in the face,” said Van Dyk.
The eyewitness was hiding behind a display when it happened.
Van Dyk said that the woman died instantly and the suspects fled the scene in two vehicles.
Lyttelton SAPS, forensic investigators, and detectives collected and processed evidence at the scene and followed up on leads.
