Alert: Fake job ad for metro post
Tshwane has warned of a misleading job poster making the rounds on social media platforms this week.
Tshwane is warning job seekers to be vigilant of a false job advertisement circulating on social media platforms this week.
Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the advertisement was devoid of any truth and misleading job seekers.
He said the fake job advertisement shows one must contact a certain “HR manager” for jobs.
The requirement for this job post is a Grade 10 qualification with no experience and applicants have to be available immediately.
Mashigo warned the public not to fall for this scam as Tshwane had issued no such notice.
He said Tshwane only used its official website to announce job posts to the public.
“Tshwane only advertises its vacant posts in newspapers and on the Job Forum page of its website: www.tshwane.gov.za,” he said.
“We also wish to warn these fake information peddlers that they will be arrested, charged and prosecuted, as their actions border on criminality,” he said.
The public is advised to contact the metro police on 012 358 7095/6 to report such job scams.
