Memorial held for fallen metro police official

The TMPD sergeant who passed away last Friday was honoured earlier this week.

Tshwane metro police embarked on a drive-by memorial service for a late colleague on Wednesday April 10.

Sergeant Mositapula Gilbert Mphahlele, who was based in Region 4, Centurion, passed away last Friday April 5 at the age of 46 while off duty.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said Mphahlele started his career at the metro police as a student constable in January 2007.

“He was appointed constable in December 2007 and promoted to sergeant in July 2011,” he said.

The funeral will take on Saturday April 13th in Polokwane
