LISTEN: Eskom working to restore power to 95 000 north customers

Most of the areas in the north of Pretoria are affected by a major power outage. Eskom is working on restoring it.

Approximately 95 000 Eskom customers in the north of Pretoria have been affected by a major power outage.

Eskom in a statement on Tuesday, April 16 said it is working hard to restore power.

Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said that Eskom technicians are working on the major outage that affected about 95 000 customers in Tshwane.

According to Mokwena, 16 areas are affected:

– Mathibestad
– Makapanstad
– Ga-Motle
– Eersterust
– Stinkwater
– Dilopye
– Suurman
– Majaneng
– Sekampaneng
– Mashimong
– Bridgeview
– Kudube
– Temba
– Rens
– Hans Kekana
– Hammanskraal West.

Mokwena said it was yet unknown when repair work would be completed but anticipated that supply would be restored to most areas today.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience during this challenging time,” she said.

“Rest assured, we are doing everything possible to resolve the issue swiftly.”
