Help police solve Mabopane double murder
Gauteng police have released pictures of two men they believe can help them solve a four-year- old double murder case.
Gauteng police’s serious and violent crime unit has urged the public to assist with any information that may progress a stalled 2020 double murder investigation.
Senior communications officer Mavela Masondo said on May 21, 2020, assailants shot dead two men (aged 47 and 49) while they collected cash from a taxi association office at a filling station in Mabopane, in the north of Pretoria.
He said authorities are convinced that the men in the attached photos have information that can help crack the case.
“Police believe that the men in the attached photos can assist in the investigation,” said Masondo.
Masondo urged anyone who recognises the individuals or has any knowledge about the incident to come forward and assist the investigation.
He said those with information can contact their nearest police station or call the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
“Alternatively, individuals can send an anonymous tip-off via MySAPS App,” said Masondo.
