Mamelodi police need help to solve woman’s murder case

The family of Zinzi Mabuza (44), whose shot and badly burned body was found behind HM Pitje Stadium in Mamelodi West on Monday, is still in shock.

Her aunt Mpho Chikane said Mabuza was renting a room in Mamelodi West Section B1 with her partner.

Chikane said her niece deserved justice because the person who committed this crime had burnt her body beyond recognition.

Warrant Officer Duane Lightfoot said the police are working tirelessly on the investigation of the murder case of a 44-year-old woman who was shot and badly burnt.

He said police found the body of the deceased together with a few cartridges in the bush of HM Pitje Stadium.

“The police were informed by community members passing by who saw the body of the deceased,” said Lightfoot.

He said the body has been identified by the family.

“The body was taken to the government mortuary for autopsy and the police are working tirelessly to find the suspect behind the murder,” said Lightfoot.

Mabuza’s funeral service will be held at her home in Klipgat and proceed to Mabopane Cemetery at 09:00 on Wednesday, April 24.

Lightfoot added that no arrest had been made as yet, and the police are positively working on the case.

“All tip-offs will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and all callers will remain anonymous.”

The police are pleading with the public to provide any information that will help in resolving the murder case or lead to the arrest of the perpetrator who committed the crime by dialing 08600 10 111.
