“The situation remains calm, and for the safety of the children, the school has decided not to bring them back today. The school locks have been removed, but everything is under control.”

He said that on Friday, the school held a meeting with the relevant stakeholders and informed them that the school was at full capacity.

“They are aware of the situation. There is another school opposite Danie Malan that has available space.

“I firmly believe in respect, adherence to rules, understanding, and non-violence. My priority is the community and its children. Education is vital for all children, and we must not disrupt their learning.”

Meyer said they are closely monitoring the school and the surrounding area, and the situation remains under control.
