Residents prefer Revolution Trails Sunset walk/run
Many runners prefer the sunset walk/run from 16:00 tot 18:00 so they can be home before dark.
Almost 60 runners took part in the recent Revolution Trails Sunset Walk/Run at Irene Athletics Clubhouse in Centurion.
Revolution Trails is known for the weekly runs they hold around the metro. Once a month they hold sunset runs where participants can select to either do their distances on the road or the trail.
Participants can pick either a 3km, 5km or 10km trail.
“There are places that do night runs but we cater for a lot of families and older people and they don’t always want to be out so late at night. So we offer them an opportunity to start from 16:00-18:00. So they can still come directly after work, do their run and get home, still make food for the family or just get home before dark,” says Revolution Trails owner, Glizelle Langerman.
Langerman says that these trails are preferred as runners tend to enjoy nature and they serve as a distraction from everyday life.
She says Revolution Trails is looking forward to their annual weekend race, De Voetpadkloof in Toevlugt, Mpumalanga on June 7 and 8.
Residents can try out Revolution’s pet-friendly trails every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
