Power network repair to affect supply in Pretoria CBD, West
The essential work is scheduled for five hours from 11:00 until 16:00 on Tuesday and will save the substation from a possible total breakdown.
The Tshwane metro is planning to upgrade the Princess Park 132kV Substation on March 4, which will cause power supply interruption to parts of Pretoria Central and West.
Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the Tshwane Energy and Electricity Department will on Tuesday shut down the power supply to the Princess Park Substation for the upgrade of the communication system.
“This is to allow the city’s technicians to carry out testing and repair of the substation equipment for optimal function.”
Mashigo said this essential work, which is scheduled for five hours from 11:00 until 16:00, will save the substation from a possible total breakdown.
The following areas and amenities will be affected:
– Pretoria CBD
– Pretoria Townlands
– West Park
– Salvokop
– Asiatic Bazaar
Mashigo said customers are advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times.
“Tshwane apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the above-mentioned work.”
