Chilly weekend expected in Pretoria

This weekend’s weather update for Pretoria indicates cooler conditions as temperatures remain subdued following the recent cold front.

Pretoria is in for a cold weekend, with temperatures struggling to recover after the recent cold front. Minimums will drop to around 7°C, while daytime highs are expected to reach only about 20°C.

According to Vox Weather, Michelle du Plessis weather conditions will remain relatively cool.

“Temperatures are struggling to recover after the cold front. Minimums will be around 7°C and maximums only around 20°C.”

This comes after several parts of the country experienced snowfall, including areas in KwaZulu-Natal, Lesotho, and the Free State, as a cold front swept across South Africa.

While Pretoria itself did not see snow, the city has been affected by the lingering chill from this weather system. Temperatures in Pretoria have dropped significantly, with the coldest day recorded midweek and early mornings nearing freezing in some southern parts of Gauteng.

The South African Weather Service has issued warnings for damaging winds and heavy rain in other regions, highlighting the widespread impact of this cold front.

As a result, Pretoria is expected to endure a cool weekend, with daytime highs struggling to reach 20°C and lows dipping to around 7°C, continuing the brisk conditions brought on by the recent weather changes.
