Network repair could trigger power supply interruptions in Pretoria east

The maintenance work scheduled to repair the power lines will affect the Waltloo/Njala power lines and is said to span for 10 hours from 07:00 to 17:00.

Tshwane metro has alerted residents in Mooiplaas and Willow areas of a possible power supply interruption on May 26 due to a scheduled repair on power lines.

According to Tshwane, the city’s Energy and Electricity Department, in conjunction with TCT Civil and Construction Company, will repair Waltloo/Njala power lines.

“On this day, the project team will string the said power lines from Tower 58 to Tower 59, crossing over the Bronkhorstspruit Road (R104),” said metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

He said the repair work in question is scheduled to last for 10 hours from 07:00 until 17:00

The following three areas will experience power supply interruptions:

– Mooiplaas plots and business amenities

– Willow Brae

– Willow Park

Mashigo advised motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians using R104 to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings in this area during the period of the repair work.

“Customers are advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times,” he added.

Tshwane apologised profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the above-mentioned work.
