Metro police nab two suspected drug dealers in Hercules
Packets of crystal meth and nyaope were found in their possession when police followed up on the tip-off.
Two suspects were arrested in Hercules, west of Pretoria, for possession of various narcotics, after TMPD officers responded to a tip-off on June 4.
The TMPD’s Radio Control Unit dispatched the Drug Unit officers shortly after receiving the complaint that a man was dealing drugs near a fast food restaurant in Hercules.
Upon arriving at the location in question, officers conducted observations and engaged with a man matching the description, shortly before the second suspect’s arrival.
In a social media post by the metro police’s communication unit, it’s explained that the suspects were arrested following a search of their persons and the vehicle.
“While speaking to him, a second male arrived in a vehicle. Searches of the suspect and the vehicle uncovered suspected narcotics identified as nyaope and crystal methamphetamine in the vehicle.”
The two men were immediately arrested. The exhibits have been seized for further forensic analysis and investigation. The suspects were detained at a local police station, the post continued.

The TMPD thanked the residents for reporting the activity and encouraged other community members to do the same to disrupt drug distribution and related crimes.
