Woodhill College has achieved a historic milestone after its U/10, U/11 and U/12 football teams completed a remarkable triple of Football Association of Pretoria Primary Schools (FAPPS) titles during this year’s season.
The achievement marks the first time in the school’s football history that all three age groups have secured major honours in the same season, highlighting the continued growth of the college’s football programme.
The U/11 and U/12 teams were crowned FAPPS Challenge Cup champions in their respective age groups, adding to the U/10 boys’ FAPPS League title won earlier this month to complete the memorable clean sweep.
Head of Sport Lynette Lindeque described the achievement as a defining moment for the school’s football programme.
“This achievement is a significant milestone for the Woodhill College football programme. It is the first time in the school’s history that our U/10, U/11, and U/12 Teams have all secured titles in the same season, making this a truly historic accomplishment,” said Lindeque.
According to the school, the successful campaign was built on months of commitment, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship shown by players, coaches, and supporters throughout the season.
Lindeque said the success reflected the collective effort invested in developing young footballers both on and off the field.
“The continued development of the school’s football programme, together with valuable support and expertise provided by the resident club, Pretoria Athletics Football Club and their coaches, has played a significant role in the growth and success of our players and teams,” said Lindeque.

She congratulated everyone who contributed to the historic season and encouraged players to use the achievement as motivation for future success.
“Enjoy this success, be proud of what you have accomplished, and continue striving for excellence both on and off the field. This achievement has set a new standard for Woodhill College football, and we look forward to building on this success in the years to come,” she said.
Beyond celebrating the trophies, the school hopes the achievement will encourage younger learners to pursue excellence in sport and other areas of school life.
“We believe this achievement will inspire not only our future football players but also learners participating in all sporting codes. It demonstrates that with hard work, perseverance, and commitment, success is achievable. We hope this mindset extends beyond sport and encourages our learners to apply the same dedication to their academic studies and everyday lives,” she said.

Looking ahead, the school intends to strengthen its football programme across all primary school age groups while maintaining its competitive edge.
“Our goal is to continue developing football across all age groups and to consistently compete for league and Challenge Cup titles at every primary school level. More importantly, we aim to provide an environment where every player can develop their skills, enjoy the game, and represent Woodhill College with pride and sportsmanship,” she said.
The historic triple caps off what the school has described as one of the most successful football seasons in its history and sets a new benchmark for future Woodhill College teams.
