Man nabbed for alleged cable theft at Pretoria West Power Station
Metro police arrested a man after he was found in possession of suspected stolen electricity cables at the Pretoria West Power Station.
The TMPD Cable Theft Unit arrested a man in connection with the theft of electricity cables at the Pretoria West Power Station on July 18.
TMPD Spokesperson Colonel Isaac Mahamba said the arrest was a result of information received from security personnel regarding suspected trespassing on the power station premises.
“Upon arrival at the scene, a [man] was caught in possession of suspected stolen electricity cables,” he said.

Mahamba said the suspect was arrested and he is currently detained at a local police station pending his court appearance.
“The suspect is facing charges of tampering with essential infrastructure and possession of suspected stolen property,” he stated.
TMPD Police Commissioner Yolanda Faro applauded the hard work and dedication of the officers involved.
