Festival brings community together to support those in need
A night of live music and generosity at Club 14 saw the community raise thousands of rands and hundreds of blankets for those in need.
Centurion’s community spirit was on full display as music lovers came together to support people and animals in need during the Warm Fees 2026 Tour stop in the city, donating blankets and thousands of rands for the cause.
The fundraising event, held at Club 14 in Irene on July 17, combined live entertainment with a blanket drive, with Martin Bester and his band taking to the stage for the evening.
With the support of sponsors including Jacaranda FM and Bidvest McCarthy Mercedes-Benz Centurion, the event also served as a blanket drive led by Round Table Pretoria.
By the end of the evening, 162 blankets had been donated, and R29 100 in cash donations had been raised.

Warm fees co-ordinator Hein van Rooyen said the money collected would be used to buy additional blankets, which, together with those already donated, would be distributed to people in need as well as animals in distress.
He added that Round Table Pretoria followed the event by handing out blankets and bowls of soup to people living on the streets to provide some relief from the winter cold.
Van Rooyen expressed his gratitude to the sponsors, artists, volunteers, donors, and members of the public who supported the initiative, saying the event’s success reflected what could be achieved when a community comes together.

According to Van Rooyen, the Centurion event once again showed that collective action can have a meaningful impact on the lives of both people and animals in need, with the initiative continuing to bring warmth and hope to those facing a difficult winter.
