Metro warns of water outage in Centurion
Residents left without water due to maintenance.
Eldoraigne, Clubview and Wierdapark residents in Centurion will be without water on Wednesday, October 5.
The metro said this was due to the maintenance and upgrade of the infrastructure.
“The City of Tshwane will carry out maintenance and upgrades to a water supply network in Eldoraigne extension 3 on the corner of Henri and Edwards roads,” it said.
“The work is necessitated by the need to install a tie-in connection on the existing main pipeline.”
The maintenance work will take about 8 hours to complete from 08:00 until 16:00.
“The planned work will likely lead to an interruption of water supply.”
A similar upgrade will also take place in Waterkloof along Dely Road and Milner Street.
The following areas will be affected by the maintenance:
– Clubview A
– Eldoraigne
– Wierdapark
– Alphenpark
– Brooklyn
– Garsfontein 374-JR
– Hazelwood
– Maroelana
– Maroelana Ext 3
– Waterkloof
Recently, Annlin and Wonderboom residents were also without water due to pipe leaks and maintenance.
Local ward councillor Lenise Breytenbach said a huge water leak around Annlin, Sinoville and Wonderboom was to blame.
She said leaks were caused by ageing infrastructure.
“Old asbestos pipes are a huge problem,” said Breytenbach.
