Night dog walk collects 442kg of dog food
The entrance fee at the event included a bag of dog food.
The Pretoria Dog Rescue celebrated its first Irene farm village dog walk post-Covid this week.
The Irene village has been hosting the annual dog walk in aid of animal shelter, Pretoria Dog Rescue, as far back as 2008.
Rescue director Reinette Le Roux said, “this year we were privileged to be invited to the first one after Covid”.
She said members of the shelter have been longing for the event as they also have an evening dog walk.
“It has been an event we have always been looking forward to. Residents of Irene Farm Village have a night dog walk through the estate from 18:00 until 19:00 followed by a small ceremony and a movie night.
“With food and drinks trucks, there is always more than enough to eat and drink, even popcorn for the movie and the doggies enjoy it just as much as the kids and parents.”
The entrance fee for the event included a bag of dog food.
Le Roux revealed that they collected about 442kg of dog food for the shelter.
“This will go a long way in making sure that the puppies and kennel kids are well taken care of,” she said.
“This year was again a huge success.
“We wish to thank everyone involved in helping the shelter once again this year.”
The event was held at the entrance of the farm village estate in Centurion.
The next event will be on October 29 at the Heritage Hill Estate.
