Centurion community has fun running in the rain
Parents, residents and grandparents ran with their dogs to raise money for the school.
Hundreds of people took an hour out of their schedules to race in rainy Centurion weather to raise money for Louis Leipoldt School on Saturday, October 29.
Parents, residents and grandparents with their dogs came out in huge numbers to support the school and have fun running with their kids.
Bennie Roux said he joined the race because he loves running and wanted to support the school.

“I have two kids in the school and you can’t keep me away from running. I ran over 20 minutes because the route was long, but we had the best weather,” he said.
Minke Dekker (12) said she had fun running in the rainy weather and it helped her run further.
“It was fun. When it started to drizzle, it was very nice. It made me feel fresh and it was fun seeing other people running and encouraging them to have the passion to run,” she said.
Running with a whole bunch of other people was also motivational.

Nadine Juris had no choice but to join the fun in the cold unpredicted weather after her son Ezra Juris motivated her to race.
“I said okay, let’s go because it would be a nice experience for him and the family,” she said.
Nico Fowler said he went out for the run because it’s fun to run with the kids.
“We as a family love to run, so it’s nice to get an opportunity here as a family. The atmosphere is what makes it fun. Seeing people walking with their dogs and kids, that’s exciting,” he said.

Tsholofelo Tube said it was fun doing something different with his son for a change.
“This is the first time we’ve done something like this. We usually go to a restaurant and eat. It’s been a while since I did an activity like this,” he said.
