Centurion model set to jet off to Colorado in the US to represent SA

A 15-year-old model from Centurion is set to represent South Africa in Colorado in America next year.

Genevieve Verster has several awards to her name won this year, among them Mini Miss RSA role model and Miss Gauteng high schools 16-18-year-olds when she was barely 15 years of age.

According to her coach Deon Krause, Genevieve has been modelling since the age of 10.

Krause told Rekord that her biggest hobby was charity work adding that she’s busy with it most of her time.

“I am extremely proud of Genevieve. I know that she is going to reach the top in this extremely difficult industry. She has a heart of gold and she truly puts all her effort into modeling”, the coach added.

Furthermore, Krause said the Centurion community and the country at large will be hearing more of her name on different platforms as she is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

“You will be hearing a lot about this young girl. We still have to do a lot of work for the international competition but I know that she will be bringing home the crown,” she said.

The Miss International pageant will be held on July 10 2023 in Colorado.

Genevieve’s schoolmate at Rietvlei academy Nadine Labuschagne said they feel very proud to have one of their own peers representing the country on such a big stage.

“We are proud of Genevieve as her schoolmates, and it is such a good thing that she will be representing the country next year. We wish her nothing but the best and we know that she will bring the trophy back home,” Labuschagne added.

School headmaster Carinda Habig also expressed her joy at her student’s achievements and milestones, saying that the school was equally proud of Genevieve.

Habig said as the school they will support her in every step of her journey as she was one of their own.

“We are very proud of Genevieve and what she has achieved. We know what she is capable of as she has previously won the Miss Gauteng Schools, and mini Miss South Africa, so we are confident that she will bring this one home,” she said.

Genevieve’s coach is part of South Africa’s all-Star modelling academy and her love for modelling started in Centurion with Yolandi Rossouw from Glam light models.
