Four suspected Eersterust drug dealers to appear in court this week

One suspect was found in possession of 810 mandrax tablets

Four suspected drug dealers were arrested during a police operation in Eersterust on Friday and are expected to appear in court this week.

According to a statement from the Eersterust police station, two of the alleged dealers were arrested in the morning and the other two in the afternoon.

“The first suspect was arrested at David Diedericks street in possession of drugs suspected to be crystal meth, the second was arrested at Lester Crescent in possession of 810 tablets suspected to be mandrax.

“The third was arrested at Kelda Avenue in possession of suspected mandrax tablets, the fourth one was arrested in Spitfire Avenue in possession of drugs suspected to be CAT.

“All four alleged drug dealers were charged for dealing in drugs and they will be appearing at the Hatfield court,” said Eersterust police station police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.

Eersterust station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Simon Matshwane Theledi encouraged the community to report drug dealers to the police.

He emphasised that drugs often cause irreversible damage to those who use them.
