A hot sunny week can be expected, with temperatures peaking on Wednesday and Thursday.

Pretoria is in for a hot week with sunny clear skies into the weekend, according to the SA weather service (SAWS).
The week will start off with a relatively cool 29°C maximum and partly cloudy weather.
However, things are expected to heat up from there.
Tuesday is expected to reach a maximum of 33°C from a minimum of 18°C.
Wednesday will be slightly warmer, with a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 19°C.
Thursday will remain hot with a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 19°C.
Friday is expected to cool down slightly with a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 17°C.
The weekend is expected to be cool with both Saturday and Sunday maxing out at 32°C from a minimum of 17°C and 18°C respectively, with the week-long sunny skies expected to finally break by Sunday.
This time of year is historically the hottest, with the highest ever temperature of 42.7°C recorded on January 7, 2016.
Survive the heat with these tips:
– Close the curtains. Keep your home cooler by blocking out the sun, especially when you are away during the day.
– Use sun protection when outdoors.
– Be aware of the elderly and small children who are more susceptible to the effects of heat.
– Consume lots of liquids to avoid dehydration.
– Remember your pets! You might be away from home during the worst of the heat, so make sure your pet will have somewhere to escape.
– Be cautious when exercising or doing heavy physical activities, especially outdoors.
