Man arrested with 170 packets of crystal meth in Eersterust
More than 40 undocumented persons were arrested during the operation.

A man was arrested in Eersterust in possession of 170 packets of suspected crystal meth during operation O Kae Molao last week.
The successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Brigadier Samuel Thine.
Crime intelligence, Gauteng traffic, Tshwane metro police (TMPD), home affairs and correctional services were involved in the operation.
“The operation was aimed at addressing narcotics, the proliferation of firearms and all in transit crimes,” said Eersterust police spokesperson Sargeant Sam Shibambo.
“Four people were arrested in Eersterust for drug-related offences.
“A 29-year-old tuk tuk driver was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs after he was found transporting 170 packets of crystal meth with an estimated value of R10 000.
“A 48-year-old woman was also arrested for dealing in drugs after she was found in possession of 39 Mandrax pills in Kanna Avenue, Eersterust.”
More than 40 undocumented persons were arrested during the operation.
The Gauteng traffic issued 70 fines valued at R97 500 to motorists who violated the rules of the road.
TMPD also issued fines valued at R7 000 to seven motorists for road traffic offences.
More than 270 persons, 126 vehicles and 21 premises were searched.
