Rosslyn area a hotspot for theft of and out of motor vehicles

Community members are encouraged to assist the police in breaking the pattern by reporting any suspicious activities they may see.

Motorists are urged to be vigilant when parking their vehicles in the Rosslyn area on the corner of Piet Rautenbach Street and R566 Road (opposite Rosslyn SPAR) as police have noted an increase in thefts from motor vehicles.

Akasia station commander Godfrey Zwane raised his concerns on the number of thefts out of motor vehicles that are reported from the area recently.

Zwane advised motorists to take note of where they park their vehicles around the area and to resort to parking spots allocated inside the shopping complex as opposed to the outside area which they normally use, especially truck drivers.

Strategies have been implemented to address the increase in thefts, which include random patrols around the area.

Community members are encouraged to assist the police in breaking the pattern by reporting any suspicious activities they may see.

He highlighted that the area has been noted as a crime hotspot following numerous incidents reported.
