Pretoria ladies’ teams prepare for new league campaigns
The three teams have started preparing themselves for the 2023 league campaigns.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be looking forward to another year at the top in 2023.
The 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League champions proved dominant in the league and Champions League although they fell short in the files and failed to retain their title.
They since resumed training ahead of the new Super League campaign, which is due to start in the coming weeks.
The players have been checking their fitness in the gym and pitch preparing for another entertaining season with hopes of retaining the title.
Last season, the Brazilians finished off the Hollywoodbets Super League season in crushing style, scoring 14 goals in their last three games to clinch their third successive league crown.
In the end, Sundowns Ladies racked up a staggering 27 wins out of 30 games, scoring 126 goals and conceding just 13 times. The league champions also accrued a mammoth goal difference of +113.

The club’s success on the pitch also gave the players and coaches wins off the pitch.
Sundowns Ladies dominated the second edition of the end-of-the-season Hollywoodbets Super League awards ceremony.
Coach Jerry ‘Kappa’ Tshabalala clinched the Coach of the season award for the second time in a row while Boitumelo Rabale was named the Player of the season.
Meanwhile, their rivals TUT Ladies FC have throughout the week held trials to boost their squad depth ahead of the new campaign.
The Red Army, as they are often referred to, finished third for the first time in the history of the league.
However, they scored more points than before in the league having surpassed the 59 points tally record of the 2021 league campaign.
Sasol League has new kids in the log in Ga-Rankuwa-based Viking Ladies who have already begun their preparations for the new challenge.
Captain Anele Mhlanga said they are ready for stiffer competition.
“I’m well aware that the league is different compared to the regional league, however, I believe that the team will pass the challenge,” she said.
