Large parts of Tshwane to experience water challenges due to power failure

Most areas within the Tshwane jurisdiction will experience challenges of low water pressure to no water due to a power failure at Rand Water.

Tshwane spokesperson Selby Bokaba said Rand Water notified Tshwane on April 14 that their Mapleton Booster Station experienced a power supply failure.

“The incident affected Vlakfontein Reservoir that supplies Tshwane.

“The cause of the power failure is being investigated by the water utility’s technicians, who are on site.

“This power failure has resulted in depletion and/or declining levels of other Rand Water reservoirs, namely Brakpan, Selcourt, Bronberg, Wildebeefontein and Stompiesfontein.”
