15 patrons injured after tavern shooting in Soshanguve

Fifteen counts of attempted murder are being investigated.

Tshwane police have launched a manhunt after 15 patrons were wounded in a tavern shooting in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.

The incident happened on Sunday night, June 11.

“Upon arrival, police found several people with gunshot wounds and they were taken to the local clinic and hospitals,” said police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.

Nevhuhulwi said an unknown gunman stormed into the tavern and began shooting.

“The suspect pounced on the patrons while they were still enjoying and consuming alcohol and without saying anything just started shooting randomly.”

She said the motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage.

No suspect has been arrested.

Nevhuhulwi said a case with 15 counts of attempted murder was opened for further investigations.

She encouraged anyone with information that can assist the police to contact the Crime Stop line at 08600 10111 or send tip-offs on MySAPS App.
