Five dead in Rosslyn car accident

The accident, involving a Kia and BMW sedan, happened on the R566 road near Rhama City at Rosslyn.

A collision involving two vehicles claimed the lives of five people in the north of Pretoria on Sunday night.

Details surrounding the cause of the collision are limited at this stage.

According to Tshwane emergency service spokesperson Charles Mabaso, they were alerted about the accident at around 22:25.

Mabaso said the accident, involving a Kia and BMW sedan, happened on the R566 road near Rhama City at Rosslyn.

“Three males and two females were declared dead on the scene by the Gauteng emergency services paramedics.”

Mabaso said that Tshwane emergency services had to use the so-called “Jaws of Life” to free the trapped bodies from the wreckage of both vehicles.
