One dead, another seriously injured in a east collision

A man in his twenties was ejected in the rollover and found with fatal injuries the paramedics declared him dead on the scene.

A man in his twenties died in a car accident in the east of Pretoria near the Botanical Gardens on Friday morning.

According to Emer-G-Med paramedic services spokesperson Kyle Van Reenen, a second man sustained critical injuries.

“It happened near the Botanical Gardens during the early hours of Friday,” Van Reenen said.

He said that when the service arrived on the scene, a light motor vehicle lay overturned.

“A man had been ejected in the rollover and suffered fatal injuries.

“He was declared dead on the scene.”

Van Reenen said the injured man needed a life support intervention to stabilise him before he was taken to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the accident was unclear at this stage and would form part of the police investigation.
