Mamelodi author shares her culinary skills in book

'The aim of writing the book is to accommodate people from all sorts of backgrounds and encourage people through the Word of God to cook with love and in doing so, bring families and loved ones together.'

A Mamelodi author recently launched a third book titled: Cooking with Joy & Thanksgiving.

Kedibone Mailula (33) of Mamelodi East ext. 4 said her third book was a step-by-step guide to affordable cooking.

Kedibone is a born-again Christian, an author and a professional chef.

She is passionate about worship and writing.

She desires to see people doing well and being strong in and for God no matter the pressure they face in this world.

She is motivated to lead and inspire people to follow their passion.

She said she wrote the book to accommodate people from all sorts of backgrounds and encourage them through the Word of God to cook with love and in doing so, bring families and loved ones together.

“It also touches on the origin of food according to the Word of God so that we learn more about where food comes from and how it developed over time.”

She said this will help us appreciate it and those who contribute to evolving the food we cook more.

“At the end of it all love is the message behind cooking!

“The book is for everyone to read, young and old.”

Kedibone studied hospitality management at Tshwane University of Technology.

After matric, she took a gap year to figure out her career path.

She said because living in different places throughout her life had exposed her to different ways of living and foods, she had developed a love for cooking and working in the kitchen.

She then majored in culinary arts at the university and went on to do the practical.

She said during this she had spent more time in the kitchen trying to improve her knowledge and experience with food.

Then she got an opportunity to teach baking, which exposed her to teaching and sharing her knowledge.

“This is how I got interested in writing,” she said.

First came Shine Your Light, a book to encourage people not to be afraid to shine, then #I’M BACK, about her journey through a dark time with God by her side.
