The City of Tshwane reports improvements in the reservoir levels

The City of Tshwane said on Friday that there are improvements at the Zuikerbosch water treatment plant

Rand Water informed the city on Friday that their bulk water system improved after the power outage affected their Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant.

Water operations were disrupted by the severe winds caused by a thunderstorm on Tuesday that damaged the powerlines supplying the Zuikerbosch water plant.

The power failure resulted in the halt of the production of millions of litres of water per day.

Rand Water said that their Klipfontein Reservoir have also improved and that water will be supplied to the Hartebeeshoek Reservoir that feeds, Soshanguve, Ga-Rankua, Mabopane and Wintervel areas.

The City will continue to monitor the affected reservoirs and areas very closely.

Residents who were affected as well as those not affected by the water outages are asked to assist the system to stabilise quickly by using water sparingly and only when it is absolutely necessary.

The City apologised profusely to the residents who were affected by the water outages.
