The men turned their attention on the customers in the drive-through, robbed them of their cellphones then fled the scene.

Three men robbed customers of their cellphones at a fast food drive-through in Ga-Rankuwa on Friday night.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, Ga-Rankuwa police are investigating a case of attempted business robbery and armed robbery.

Nevhuhulwi said store employees were serving customers when one noticed three men with firearms approaching.

Nevhuhulwi said one man shot at the door lock to gain access.

“The suspects then attempted to damage the protection glass with a chair but failed,” Nevuhulwi said.

She said the men turned their attention to the customers in the drive-through robbed them of their cellphones then fled the scene.

She said no one was injured and the value of the stolen phones had yet to be established.
