Bail application postponed for suspect accused over defrauding bank of R1-million
A warrant of arrested was circulated to apprehend the accused.
The Pretoria magistrate’s court has postponed a car dealer fraud suspect’s bail application to November 6.
The 31-year-old accused appeared before the court on charges of fraud.
Warrant Officer Noloyiso Rwexana said the accused allegedly sent three vehicle finance applications to the bank in January 2021 from a car dealership in Wonderboom.
“The bank began its investigation when the accused failed to pay the monthly instalments. It was discovered the accused provided fraudulent documents for the applications before he went back to his country of origin, India.”
The matter was reported to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigations in Pretoria.
Rwexana said: “The bank was prejudiced over R1-million. A warrant for his arrest was issued and circulated at all ports of entry. He was arrested and appeared in court.”
