Dead man found in street with his hands tied behind his back

The deceased was bleeding from his left ear and had a small injury to his lower back.

Wonderboompoort police are investigating a case of murder after the body of an unknown man was found on the street with his hands and feet tied.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk, the discovery was made on Thursday, November 30 on Franzina Street near the corner of Solomon Avenue.

He said the man is believed to have been in his 30s.

Van Dyk said the Wonderboompoort patrol vehicle was alerted by passersby about the body lying on the street.

The deceased was found with his hands tied behind his back with yellow plastic, and his feet tied with jeans.

Van Dyk said crime scene experts found blood coming from his left ear and a small injury to his lower back.

“There is no known suspect at this stage, as police are still searching for clues,” said Van Dyk
